The above mentioned workshop was attended by 18 members of the staff of Rights Jessore and 2 members of BIID. The workshop focused on a number of issues including 1) Access to the Internet by rural people, 2) How to raise awareness about e-Complain amongst people, 3) What can BIID and Rights Jessore do to take e-Complain forward and what are the respective interests and motivations of BIID and Rights Jessore with regards to e-Complain. The workshop started with a presentation given by BIID on e-Complain, which was followed by a question and answer session and concluded with a lively open round discussion on the benefits of e-Complain. At the workshop, it was agreed that e-Complain has tremendous opportunities to improve the lives of citizens by spreading awareness and creating pressure on rights offenders. The action points that were agreed are as follows: It was agreed that Rights Jessore would compile a list of 10-12 potential partner organization and this list would be forwarded to BIID. BIID would then follow up with these organizations to ascertain if these organizations have the capacity to work as partners for e-Complain. It was also agreed that BIID and Rights Jessore would design and conduct a research to find areas of capacity building of partner organizations, profile of beneficiaries (target groups such as farmers, women and children) and the most effective way to mobilize resources for joint undertaking of the pilot. |
